There are people who like to discuss, and there are people who like to argue. Then, there are people who just babble MoveOn or Rush talking points. I suppose it takes all kinds. The last two sets of people are the cannon fodder who spend all their money today, and the first set of people is looking for angles for how to get ahead with whatever we have. I'll take the cheap computer and cheap Internet and make a lot more diaper, beer and hamburger money.

To my mind, the cheap credit has helped and it has hurt, but forcing the interest rate down has destroyed the banking system and made 'savings' of the old-fashioned sort untenable. The 'cost of living' measures don't take this into account either. Another thing that's extremely worrisome is the way our debt is now held outside of the country, whereas in WW2 it was war bonds held by Americans.

    >If the planet says 350, then it doesn’t matter that the U.S. needs to get out of an economic rut, or that China still has lots of peasants who would like to move to the city. We’re going to have to find non-carbon ways to do those things, because the planet is unlikely to suddenly say, “Oh well, 450 then.” The laws of nature aren’t amendable like the laws of man.

The problem with your thinking, and millions like you, is that you don't dare question the assumption that growth is good.

In the long run, growth is **not** good.

    >Coleman has been incarcerated in McDougall-Walker prison in Suffield since 2005, when a jury convicted him of sexual assault in a spousal relationship, unlawful restraint, breach of peace, second-degree threatening and sixth-degree larceny.

    >Coleman was convicted without any physical evidence or witnesses, only his wife's testimony.

The next terrorist attack on any western nation I will put the video of the attack on a loop and try to jerk off to it.

The Talibans might be right, these fucking lying beasts need to be put in a burka all their fucking life.

I'm glad that the taxpayers were able to support your lazy year of unemployment and your stupid drug habit. Stop smoking dope and go get a job.... any job. If that means wearing a Best Buy or McDonalds uniform.... then do it.

When you get a degree in something stupid like "Creative Writing" there aren't a bunch of people lined up to give you a job. WTF were you thinking?! That's almost as bad as a degree in Philosophy or Art History. Most people end up working for an insurance company or a bank or some lame corporate job that pays the bills. Life sucks then you die. Get used to it. The world doesn't owe you a living... it was here first.

Absolutely. In this day it should not be hard to find a doctor who is experienced in diagnosing RSI injuries.

Chances are there is some issue with how the HighSpeedDubbing is using his keyboard, mouse, or some other activity, that has caused an injury to some part. It could be tendinitis, it could be some other injury, or, like one person I know, it could be a tumor affecting his spine, but you need someone to do a physical exam who is experienced in RSI, and hopefully not someone who is just looking to perform surgery without a real look at the problem.

Wow. You'll be wanting to lose that, now that you are legal.

IMHO, there's a big problem in your relationship. Examine your own behavior closely over the past 6-10 months. Most women, if they give you any clues at all, will be so subtle that most guys {guilty here} miss them. If you find your behavior to be upstanding and loving, then you should probably find yourself late for the door.

She's looking for trouble, and you will be the main recipient if you stay, barring a reconciliation from the ground up. Best of luck.

When the car hits you it accelerates (negatively) a slight bit. This negative force exerted onto the car (slowing it down) is equal and opposite to the force exerted onto you.

    The equations look like this:

    F=MA

    A=(V2-V1)/(t)ime to accelerate

assume: the car weighs (has a mass of) 3000 lb / V1=50 mph, V2=48 mph / t=.5 sec

    TF-A= 2mph/.5 sec = 5.86 ft/sec^2

    SO F= 3000 lb*5.86 ft/sec^2 = 546 lb-f (2430 N)

In all likelihood this happens much quicker than .5 sec, which would increase the force linearly.

did you happen to read the name of the poll and its outcome? "Are you really black?" that inclines that they want that type of negitivity if 100% black is associated with ITS answer of: "youre a ghetto blaster and DONT TAKE NO SHIT (laugh) from no one, not a teacher or a parent.. what a joke... they wonder why people are prejudice against thugs.. if they wanted any respect they should get an education so that someday the answer will read: Congratulations, You're 100% black! That means you're a well educated individual that believes in helping others before one's self..

It's not exactly a choice. You can't just turn these sorts of feelings off, I'm afraid.

He seems to be taking a reasonably good approach in terms of managing those feelings. I don't think it's fair to equate your friends situation to his. (Nevertheless, it is a good point you make.)

Thanks OP for raising the subject and being so forthright. You're obviously conscious that it's "wrong", so I would just encourage you to always know that the consequences, and guilt, of ever deviating from that path are not worth it (and I don't mean that to sound patronising).

We human being are not above committing mistakes, blunders and crimes, whatever we may claim we are to be, but as social being dropping down to such mean and low category in character qualities is simply unspeakable and highly objectionable.

The voters as a whole must realize that their constituent's senator with such questionable character do reflect on the entire population of that constituent and at large the whole country.

So the voters must desist from voting bad characters henceforth from the constituents. Recently it has transpired that senators of REPUBLICAN PARTY are mostly of bad character and are of anti-social norms.

This has made a very negative impact of our American society in outside world. Then, coming to another factor is in the name of difference of opinion on issues we use the electronic and printing medias to foment racial hatred and propagate particular agenda to drive the party stand to divide the Party with the intent to pressurize the party colleague of importance to bow down to the demands of foreign country.

The senior senators those who lead the young generation of Senators and those who are easily led should see their last days as senator hence forth as they are no good for the Nations interest.

Is this what we call loyalty to our country or we should call this as treachery with our Nation.Think, and take action against those who were disloyal to the nation and those who work for other nations interest against our own.

Recently the Republican Party sent a delegation to a foreign country under a highly controversial young Senator to assure them of their support against the government decision and advised them to retaliate against USA government decision.

What an audacious treachery with the country, did not think even that they also are the part and parcel of the government against which they are advising the foreign country to act against.

Well at the moment we're on hiatus. We've been on tour for about 3 years so it's about long overdue. So unfortunately we don't have any plans to go to the UK, though I think Atlas Sound/Bradford might be touring that way and might be tagging along.

Gear, well I pretty much use Fender's. Fender Jaguar mostly for recording Microcastle and have used a Fender Mustang from the beginning of this year for touring with Deerhunter and Lotus Plaza. Pedals I use a Digitech Digidelay and Digiverb alongside a Boss SP 303 sampler. I also use that digitech/Boss combo for vocal manipulation and track looping for Lotus Plaza.

I guess the main problem of D at the moment is that, on one hand you have D 1.0 which is stable and good, but has two standard libraries, not compatible with each others, and lack a great deal of features (if you compare it to D 2)

And on the other hand you have D2, wich promises to fix all of thoses problems, but is not out yet.

I mean, we're hearing about how D2 nice is, or is gonna be, since almost two years now ! At the beginning i was excited, because there is a lot of nice ideas in it. Now i'm just bored.

And things like the Alexandrescu article "The case for D" didn't help at all .. Advertising about a language people can't use is not a very clever thing to do IMO.

Yep, that's it. The only catch is that I really don't want to get a percentage of the company at this point until I get going and this thing builds. I just want to do the $1000 review and attempt thing, with a $500 refund if it doesn't work out, and a $900 refund if I immediately think it isn't even worth attempting. To soften the blow, I'll provided an honest, thoughtful professional review of their proposal in outline form, along with a book on either entrepreneurship or seeking venture capital.

Eventually I'll do some micro-investment for company stock, but not initially.

So, do you think there will be any major legal issues here to contend with, or things I have to work out with the Federal Trade Commission?

In former times, the middle-classes would retire to the northern hills to cool off when it gets really hot. Of course, now they have a/c so evening peak can go on for a bit. It would be a hell of a lot better if Indians used some centuries old architectural ideas to encourage cooling breezes. Unfortunately that takes a lot of space.

As for distributed power generation, it is a very interesting concept (as opposed to solar farms), but it would be interesting to see it working in India over new high-end developments first before it is spread out.

Years ago I went camping with a bunch of lesbians (I was living that lifestyle at the time).

One of them was proud of her status as an ex-Marine and offered to get up really early and start the fire and make us coffee. Naturally we were thrilled at the prospect of sleeping late and waking up to coffee, but it was not to be.

See, the ex-Marine wasn't much good around the kitchen. Had no clue about coffee either.

When we got up and filled our mugs, the coffee looked like water with a faint beige tint.

Turned out Soldier Girl didn't know you needed to GRIND THE BEANS first.

Knackers is very much a derogatory term. 'Traveller' or 'Member of the travelling community' are the accepted ones.

Also, your idea that 'your people need to sort their shit out' is utter bullshit. I've been scammed by non-traveller Irish. I've been attacked by Irish, I've had my bike stolent by the Irish. Does that mean that Irish people need to all start acting like civilised people? Bullshit it does. It means there are some Irish scumbages, just like there's some Roma scumbags, some Traveller scumbags, some New Zealander scumbags, and some of every group going are scumbags. Tarring them all with the same brush is absoloutely retarded.
